Latest News ( Last Updated: 08/19/2008 3:21 PM )

8/19/2008 - Team and indivual pictures will be taken during practice the 19th, 20th and 21st. A,B & C Football on the 19th, Flag football and cheerleading on the 20th and A, B & C Cheer on the 21st.

Please arrive in full uniform.

*** Cheerleaders Only
: Please have a change of clothes and sneakers for your daughters for after pictures as they will not be allowed to practice in their uniform OR their new sneakers; it will count as an unexcused absence, resulting in sitting during Sunday's game - which NONE of us want!! ALSO, please stay at the park during pictures to assist your daughter afterwards. Coaches are not responsible for any items that are lost or stolen. The safest bet is for you to take the uniform pieces with you after our pictures have been completed.

7/21/2008 - All:

Raiders Night at Dick's Sporting Goods...

Tuesday evening is Raider's Night at Dick's Sporting Goods.  From 5-9pm all Raiders will receive 20% off of their cleats at the Greece store.  Select your cleats and you will be give a 20% off coupon at the register when stating that you are with the Hilton Raiders.

Fireman's Parade...

Thursday is the parade.  We are meeting on Heinz Street at the south entrance to Village Elementary.  Please have your child/children there prior to 6:30pm as the streets are closed off at that time.  The parade begins at 7pm.

The kids will march to the fire hall at which point all children need to be met by their parents.  You need to have someone there when the kids finish their march not after the parade.  Please be prompt as there will be a lot of children in a very crowded and busy area.  We will meet behind the fire hall.

Parade Volunteers...Tammy Gouger and other board members will be there along with the following parent volunteers...Susan/Bob Simone, Scott/Charlene Bevilacqua, Laurie Reis and Michael/Laurie Faller.  If you are scheduled to volunteer...please be on time we are relying on you.  We need you at the designated location by 6:15pm to meet the children.

Practice Next Week...

A,B and C Football and Cheerleading start practice at the Town Hall on Monday the 28th.  Practice begins promptly at 6:00pm and will go to 8:30pm.  Our practice schedule will be Monday thru Thursday untill games and school start.  Please arrive around 5:45pm so your child is ready to begin practice at 6:00pm.  The best drop off point is the rear parking lot near the concession stand.  Football will practice in poor weather, however, if there is lightning we will cancel practice.  So please be aware of poor weather conditions.  Practice is only cancelled at the field at 6pm, never prior to 6pm.  It is a field decision.  It can also be cancelled part way thru practice if the weather turns bad.  Cheerleading is similar to football but may cancel in heavy rain.

Football players are to wear helmets, mouthguards, jock and cup, shorts, t-shirt and cleats.  No pads the first week.  Our first week of practice is conditioning week and there will be no hitting.

Flag Cheerleading begins practice Tuesday the 29th at 6:30pm.  Please arrive at 6:15pm so the girls are ready to begin practice at 6:30pm.

Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for practice and the heat.  They need to bring plenty of water with them.  It is bad to eat heavily prior to practice, especially on a warm evening.

Please remember all paperwork is due prior to practice.  It is required...no exceptions.

See you next week!

11/2/2007 - Raider Families: A few updates...

I have said that my decision whether or not I would be returning as President would be forthcoming.

Over the past few weeks many of you have approached me and encouraged me to return for another term.  I appreciate the vote of confidence you have shown in me as I was trying to make my decision.

As you all know, I take great pride in our organization.  There isn't another organization in our league that hasn't commented on the quality of our program.  That is a compliment that I share with the board, our coaches and all the families involved with the Raiders as well as the Parks Dept. for the quality of the field.  Our organization is second to no other.

At the AYFCL Cheer Competition when our B Team was announced as champions of their division, I had a tear in my eye.  I couldn't have been happier or more proud of our girls (and my daughter wasn't even on the floor).  And by the way that goes for A, C and Flag Cheer as well.

Tomorrow,  B and C Football take the field at Aquinas after a tremendous season.  Many children grow up playing sports and never have an opportunity to win a championship.  Tomorrow, win or lose, they will experience something very special.  Our A Team also finished the season strong after a tough start.

It is very hard to walk away from this.  So, that being said, I will be back.

Tomorrow (11/3/2007) will be the last day to submit a biography to run for an open board position.  The voting will take place at equipment hand in on November 11th.  We will post all those running for positions and their biographies on our web site after the Championship Games.

This is what we have so far.  We are still looking for some people to fill the open positions.

10/6/2007 - Congratulations to all the cheerleading teams today at the cheer competition at Aquinas. The "C" and "B" team girls took 1st place. The "A" team girls took 3rd place. All of the performances were outstanding. Great job to the girls and the coaching staff.

10/5/2007 - The 2008 Elections are upon us. Click here for complete details on openings and position responsibilities.

**** Voting will take place during equipment hand in on November 11th ****

10/4/2007 - The Hilton Raiders Cheerleading Competition at Aquinas directions in this weeks (week 10) newsletter is incorrect. Kodak is imploding some buildings Saturday morning at 7:30 am and Ridge Rd at Dewey will be closed. We recommend going up Long Pond to Ridgeway and then to Dewey. There is no guarantee at this point that the intersection at Dewey and Ridgeway will be accessible.

10/4/2007 - The Hilton Raiders Cheerleading Teams will be performing at the annual AYFCL cheer competition on Saturday October 20th at R.I.T.'s Gordon Field House. The event begins at 10:00am and as many of you know the lines are extremely long to get in.

Good news! You can save time and not wait in line by pre-buying your tickets at ticketmaster. Tickets are only $5 each and are on sale now. It is recommended that you purchase and pick up your tickets prior to the event, but tickets will be sold at the door. Doors will open at 9:00am.

9/27/2007 - The Hilton Raiders Flag Cheerleading Team is cheering at the field (Parma Town Hall) on Tuesday October 2nd. They are included in the pizza and awards immediately following the game. The flag cheerleaders will move indoors at Village Elementary on Thursday October 4th.

9/25/2007 - The Brockport Flag Tournament this Saturday will begin at 9:00am. A coaches meeting will begin at 9:30am with the first game beginning at 10am. The flag cheerleaders will perform for everyone beginning at 12:00pm. The tournament is located at Hafner Park which is at 3655 Lake Rd. in Clarkson. Click here for the schedule.

Take 104 West to Route 19. Turn right. You will be heading North on Rt. 19 or Lake Road. Hafner Park is the first driveway you come to on the left-hand side, only about 1/4 mile north of 104. Turn into the park entrance and drive back behind the playground and Courthouse to our playing fields.

9/19/2007 - A Few Updates...

Practice Times...as of next week, A,B and C will have practice from 5:30 - 7:30 pm. This change happens every year as the days become shorter.

Raider Night at the Cadets Game...Friday night is Raiders Night at the Varsity Game! The game begins at 7pm. A, B, C and Flag (football and cheer) are encouraged to attend. The boys are to wear their jerseys (A, B and C), flag football their shirts, A,B and C cheer their wind suits and flag cheer their uniform tops. They will receive free admission. Admission for everyone else is minimal. The volunteers for this event are to get the kids together about 10 minutes prior to halftime on the Hilton side of the field at the far end of the bleachers. The kids will get the opportunity to be introduced and walk across the field under the lights during halftime.

This Weekends Games...Hilton is scheduled to play at Fairport. C Game is at the normal time (11:30 am), however, B Game will start immediately following C Game at 1:30pm. The A Teams (football and cheer) will have a 12 noon kickoff at Pal-Mac (Football to arrive at 10:30am and Cheer at 11:00am). I realize that some of you have kids on A and either B or C. Pal-Mac's field is only 15 minutes down Rt.31 from Fairport. There will be maps with the news letter. Carpooling may help some families. Here is a map for directions from the Fairport field to Palmyra's field.

Flag Football Schedule...Please refer to the schedule that was handed out last week.

Flag Cheer Schedule...There are two events coming up in the next few weeks. Saturday, September 29th, there is a flag tournament at Brockport with a tentative arrival time of 8:30am. On Sunday, October 7th, there will be a flag game prior to the C Game at Greece (Apollo). Arrival time will be tentatively set at 9:30 am as the game is scheduled to start at 10:00 am. Please note that a previous email was sent with a different time for the game.

Web Site...The organization always tries post all events and times on the web site. Please refer to it when ever you have a question.

Good luck this weekend! Jon

8/22/2007 -The final deadline for our brick fundraiser will be Thursday, August 30th.  Any orders received after this date will not be submitted until after the season ends.  If you are interested in purchasing a brick for your son or daughter, you may pick up an order form at the concession stand during practice or at the merchandise tent during Sunday’s game.  Brick orders are $30.00 for one or $25.00 for two or more.  This is a great way to support our organization as well as remembering your child’s years in the Hilton Raider Organization. Click here for a printable order form.

8/16/2007 - The Week 3 newsletter for the 2007 is available. Click here. Having trouble viewing the newsletter? You may need "Adobe Acrobat Reader" installed on your PC. Click here to download and install this free software.

8/3/2007-The Hilton Raiders 5th annual golf tournament is going to be held on Sunday August 12th at Deerfield Country Club. The cost is $75 per person and includes 18 holes of golf, cart, dinner and prizes. All are encouraged to sign up and play. We are also looking for sponsors and prize donations. Contact our Golf Tournament Coordinator, Bob Bourg at 366‐4024 for more information. Click here for the golf tournament registration form.

8/2/2007- The first newsletter for the 2007 is available, click here. This is the only newletter that will be distrubted to everyone. To save on printing costs, we have decided to just post it each week on the website for people to print. There will be a small quantity available at the concession stand for those who do not have Internet access.

We are still looking for one volunteer coordinator (to assist Carleen Ross), medics, and announcers. Please contact a board member if you are interested in helping out.

The minimum volunteer requirements are mandatory. If you are signed up for a volunteer spot (each week's newsletter will list the upcoming volunteers) and cannot be there, it is your obligation to find a replacement. If you do not fulfill your requirements, your child may have to sit out at practice or a game as a result. We hope that we do not need to enforce this new rule. This organization cannot function without the support of our parents as volunteers so please help out if you can.

7/5/2007- The 2007 season will be starting very shortly. There is still some room on the "A" football squad and "A, B & C" cheer squads. The first day of practice is July 30th. Please check the calendar out for equipment hand out days and times. They are before the first day of practice. Please remember that all paperwork that wasn't handed in (copies of birth certificates, physical forms, health insurance cards, etc.) are necessary by the first practice in order for your child to participate.

Attention all previous "Raiders" that may be trying out for modified! You can still play for the Raider's if you do not make modified or choose not to stay on modified for any reason as long as you are registered with the Raider's before the first day of practice. You must pay the registration fee (unfortunately it will not be refundable) but it will hold a spot for your child should they not make modified or decide that they would rather play on the Raider's one more year. The modified program is very big and kids might not get as much playing time as they will with the Raider's.

6/28/2007 - The 2007 Hilton Raider's Scholarship Recipient Has Been Selected. Click here for details.

The registration fee was due to our organization by March 31st in order to hold your spot. If you did not mail in your registration fee already, your spot will not be held. If you mailed in the registration fee, you still are required to come to registration with a completed registration packet.

C & B team football squads are filled up and not accepting applicants.

A team football squad still has some openings.

C, B & A team Cheerleading squads still have openings.
